Accessibility Statement
Introduction
This accessibility statement applies to myGP Triage, an online consultation service provided by iPlato Healthcare Ltd. The service allows patients and their carers to make digital requests to their GP surgery for assistance with medical issues, admins topics and repeat prescriptions.
We want as many people as possible to be able to use our services.
You can access myGP Triage on:
- the myGP app, on Apple iOS and Android devices
- the NHS App, on Apple iOS and Android devices
- any device with a web browser that is connected to the internet
Mobile users of the myGP app or NHS App should be able to use the built-in Apple iOS or Android accessibility settings to make some parts of the myGP app or NHS App more accessible (on phone and tablet).
This means you should be able to:
- zoom in up to 200% without content spilling off the screen
- navigate most of the service using just a keyboard
- navigate most of the service using speech recognition software
- listen to most of the service using a screen reader
AbilityNet has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability.
We have also tried to make text within the myGP Triage service as easy to understand as possible.
How accessible this service is
We know some parts of this service are not as accessible as they could be. We are actively working towards fixing these issues.
Right now:
- you cannot modify the line height or spacing of text
- you cannot increase contrast between foreground and background colours
We are also aware of some issues related to colour contrasts that do not meet WCAG 2.2 AA requirements.
Reporting accessibility problems with this mobile app
We continually test myGP services for accessibility needs with our Quality Assurance team and real users.
If you find any accessibility problems not listed in this document, or think we are not meeting accessibility requirements, please let us know using the feedback form above.
Enforcement procedure
The Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) is responsible for enforcing the Public Sector Bodies (Mobile apps and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018 (the “accessibility regulations”).
If you’re not happy with how we respond to your complaint, contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS).
Technical information about this mobile app’s accessibility
iPlato is committed to making its mobile app accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Mobile apps and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.
Compliance status
The myGP Triage service is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.2 AA standard, due to the non-compliances and exemptions listed below.
Non-accessible content
The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons.
Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations
Some of our page elements do not meet the minimum contrast requirements of at least 4.5:1 (or 3:1 for large-scale text).
We plan to update these contrast errors by December 2024.
Disproportionate burden
Right now, there is no way to rotate the myGP app orientation without significant portions of the content being cut off.
Content that is not within the scope of the accessibility regulations
Documents and images provided by healthcare professionals are exempt from accessibility regulations as this content comes from a third party.
