PLATO Healthcare has announced that an additional 6 Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCG’s) representing over 1.6 million patients across South West London are to use iPlato and the myGP app.
The free patient-facing platform helps speed up access to care by allowing patients to securely book and/or cancel appointments 24/7.
Also fully funded by NHS England, the new Groups represent 203 GP practices bringing the total uptake of the iPLATO service to 19 out of 32 London CCG’s, benefiting from this ‘round-the-clock’ service.
The latest contracts with: Croydon, Merton, Wandsworth, Sutton, Richmond and Kingston will enable GP practices in these areas to automate appointment bookings, reminders, cancellations, send targeted health-check/screening reminders to those relevant patients and generally support patient self-care through personal digital care tools.
Dr Rod Ewen, Clinical IT lead for Wandsworth CCG said, “The iPlato application and myGP app were evaluated by Wandsworth CCG, as part of the SW London LDR, and by local GPs as the preferred innovative digital tool for improving patient engagement, outcomes and access to services across the 6 CCGs. This gained ETTF funding from NHSE and has been purchased for all 203 practices across SW London.”
